I simply love trees!

I am fascinated by their form and structure.  I am lucky that my home is surrounded by them so I don't have to go far for inspiration.
My wishing trees are stylised but my hope is that they invoke a feeling of peace when you look at them, as they do for me.
I hand cut each piece and so each one is unique and can easily be customised.  Even the leaves are made by hand, snipping fragments of clear glass.  These fragments are carefully spread out over the kiln shelf so that they don't touch each other and are fired to 795c.  At this temperature they form tiny individual rounded dots.  I gather these up and then assemble the tree structure and add the leaves.  This process takes a very long time as each leaf is placed individually.
